Winter League is our longest league season. One common question asked: Will I be able to tryout/play for my middle school/high school team and also play Winter League? The answer is yes, as almost always the practice time does not conflict. Games are on the weekend and there is no conflict there as well. The season will begin Saturday, November 14th and end at the end of February . (Season ending party on February 22nd). Every team will play a preseason tournament in December, plus 7 games in January/February. Boys teams will practice either Monday or Wednesday late afternoon/evening. Girls teams will practice Monday or Tuesday. Exact times will be announced when teams are made. You will receive a welcome email on November 11th with details about the first practice. Teams will also practice on Saturday until games start. Games will then replace the Saturday practice. Games are played on the weekend.

Our Winter League at WGV is open to basketball players of all experience levels. We welcome more advanced players as well as beginning players. Players will be on teams with other players of similar playing levels.Our coaches coach with intensity, but also encouragement and care. Our goal is to see the basketball growth in every player that participates in our league, within a team structure. Teams will be formed based on grade and past playing experience, to make sure the games are as evenly matched as possible. For players also playing for middle school or high school teams, this Winter league is the ideal compliment. It is the premier league in the area to hone your skills!
